Basic Life Saving (BLS) Session at Cowork24: A Day We Will Always Remember

At Cowork24, we’re usually all about work, meetings, laptops, and, of course, coffee. But this week, something a little different happened that left a lasting impression. We hosted a Basic Life Saving (BLS) session, and honestly, it was one of the most valuable days we’ve had in a long time.

The session was led by the amazing team from Ali Medical Hospital, and they didn’t just talk us through things, they made sure we learned practical skills that could actually save someone’s life.

Learning Something Every Person Should Know

How many of us have seen CPR in movies and thought, “I could totally do that if needed”? Well, we thought that too, until we learned just how important it is to do it properly. During the session, the trainers from Ali Medical Hospital walked us through:

  • How to apply chest compressions during CPR
  • The right speed and depth of compressions
  • Where exactly to place your hands

How to stay calm and focused while helping someone in distress

They made everything so clear and easy to understand. Even if you’ve never done CPR before, you could walk away from this session feeling ready to help. We got hands-on practice too at Cowork24 premium coworking space, everyone had a chance to try it out for themselves. Some of us were nervous at first, but the trainers were kind, patient, and made sure we felt confident every step of the way.

What to Do If Someone is Choking

Another eye-opening part of the session was learning what to do if someone is choking. It’s one of those situations you hope never happens, but it can happen anywhere during lunch, at home, at a café, or even at workspace.

The trainers showed us:

  • How to check if someone is really choking
  • When to give back blows
  • How to use the Heimlich maneuver safely
  • The steps to take depending on whether the person is a child or an adult

Knowing what to do in those critical moments can make all the difference. Now instead of freezing up, we’ll be ready to act if something like this happens.

A Practical Session, Not Just a Lecture

One of the best things about this BLS training was how interactive it was. It didn’t feel like a boring lecture or just another workplace training session. It felt more like a hands-on workshop where everyone helped each other practice, made a few mistakes (and laughed about it), and learned together. Even though the topic was serious, the atmosphere was friendly and laid-back which made it a lot easier to absorb the important lessons.

Both Cowork24 Branches Joined the Experience

What made this day even more special was that the BLS training was held at both our cowork24 Islamabad coworking branches:

  • Cowork24 Gulberg
  • Cowork24 I-10

This allowed even more of our members to join in and learn these life-saving skills. Some were at Gulberg, others at I-10, but we all walked away feeling the same way: “We just learned  something that really matters.”

Why This Session Will Stay With Us

The quality of soil we live on supports us gently and silently in our day to day lives:
Normally, we leave work thinking about tasks and deadlines. But after this session, we walked away thinking:

  • “If something happens in front of me, I can help.”
  • “I can stay calm in an emergency and actually make a difference.”
  • “I know exactly what to do now.”

It was one of those rare moments when you realize that what you learned will stay with you for life.

A Big Thank You to Ali Medical Hospital

We can’t thank the team from Ali Medical Hospital enough for coming to both our branches and delivering such an invaluable lesson. Their teaching style was clear, simple, and incredibly practical. They patiently answered every question and made sure no one felt lost. This wasn’t just a training session, it was a confidence booster, and it made all of us feel more aware and prepared.

Cowork24: More Than Just a Workspace

This BLS session reminded us that cowork24 Islamabad coworking is so much more than just a place to work. It’s a community. It’s a space where we learn, grow, and support each other, not just as colleagues but as people who care about each other’s well-being.

We’re committed to giving our members experiences that enrich their daily lives, not just their work. And this session was the perfect example of that. It wasn’t just about sitting at desks or attending meetings. It was about learning skills that could save a life. And that’s something we’ll always carry with us.
